In a statement, the UAE’s State Security Service said it had arrested members of what it described as a “terrorist organisation” planning coordinated attacks to undermine national stability. Authorities released the identities and photographs of 27 suspects.

Investigators said the group had links to Iran’s “Velayat-e Faqih” doctrine and had adopted extremist ideologies deemed a threat to the country’s internal security.

According to officials, the network operated through clandestine meetings inside and outside the UAE, coordinating with external actors. It allegedly sought to recruit and indoctrinate young Emiratis, place members in sensitive positions, and spread misinformation to fuel opposition to state policies.

Authorities also accused the group of raising funds through unofficial channels and transferring money to organisations abroad.

The suspects face charges including forming and running a secret organisation, pledging loyalty to foreign entities, and engaging in activities harmful to national unity and social stability.

The State Security Service said it remains committed to safeguarding public safety and urged residents to report suspicious activity through official channels.
