According to the Ministry of Interior, Naqvi met US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker and Iran’s Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam to review preparations and the broader regional situation.

In his meeting with the Iranian envoy, Naqvi said arrangements for the next round were complete.

“Foolproof security measures have been ensured for all foreign delegations,” he said, stressing the need for a sustainable, negotiated solution to reduce tensions.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for diplomacy, calling dialogue the only viable path to resolve the US-Iran conflict. He also underscored long-standing Pakistan-Iran ties, describing them as “brotherly relations” built over decades.

Earlier, Naqvi met Baker at the US Embassy in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave, where both sides discussed bilateral relations and the evolving regional landscape. The US envoy appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in efforts to de-escalate tensions.

Officials said Naqvi briefed the US side on enhanced security plans for visiting delegations and expressed hope that the upcoming round would yield positive results.

Meanwhile, authorities have imposed strict security measures across Islamabad. Entry of unrelated individuals into the Red Zone has been banned, and offices within the high-security zone have been directed to shift to remote work under an official notification.

Senior officials, including Usman Anwar, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Sohail Ashraf, Inspector General of Police Ali Nasir Rizvi and Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon, attended the meetings.
