The Punjab government on Saturday approved key tourism projects and issued directives to complete development schemes within their stipulated time frames.

The approval was granted in a meeting chaired by Pakistan Muslim League-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The meeting approved the construction of a sky glass bridge project in Kotli Sattian and decided to engage international experts to address the issue of landslides in the area.

Officials were directed to ensure the rehabilitation of affected residents in Chitta Mor, Darya Gali, Bansra Gali, Namal and Jhika Gali.

The meeting also approved the establishment of hospitality zones in Shawala and Sozo, and directed that five-star standard hotels be developed in collaboration with the private sector.

Authorities were instructed to immediately clear debris from structures demolished due to encroachments.

Participants decided to widen several roads by 10 feet to improve access.

Plans for three new parks were also reviewed, with briefings given on Angoori Road Park, MIT Park and Ariari Park projects in Kotli Sattian.

Officials said Bansra Gali would feature a zoological garden, an eco zone and a modern conference facility.

The meeting was informed that water supply schemes in Dhar Jawa and Dunga Gali have been completed.

Approval was also granted for the establishment of a modern glamping pod village in Chewra Hill, which will be managed by the private sector, along with a paragliding club project in the area.

Other projects, including the Kotli Sattian chairlift and Punjab House, were also reviewed.

The meeting directed that a feasibility report for a water supply scheme from the Jhelum River be completed by April 30, and approved the establishment of Punjab’s first facility management unit.
