According to seismic authorities, the earthquake measured 5.4 on the Richter scale in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while its intensity was recorded at 5.5 in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush region at a depth of 199 kilometres.

Tremors were widely felt across the province, including Peshawar, Mardan, Upper and Lower Dir, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot, Kaghan and Haripur.

Shocks were also reported in Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Shangla, Chitral, Bajaur, Kurram, Parachinar, Karak and Dera Ismail Khan.

Further tremors were felt in Malakand, Swat, Saidu Sharif, Barikot, Kalam, Thana, Sakha Kot and Dargai, creating widespread fear among residents.

Despite the intensity and wide reach of the quake, no immediate reports of casualties or property damage were received.

Separately, tremors were also recorded in Pasni, a coastal town in Balochistan, where the magnitude was measured at 4.5. The quake had a depth of 13 kilometres and its epicentre was located 48 kilometres southwest of Pasni.

In Karachi, mild tremors were felt in the Malir area and surrounding localities. The Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded the magnitude at 3.4, with a depth of 10 kilometres.

The tremor in Karachi occurred at 1:13 p.m., prompting residents in Malir to rush outdoors while reciting prayers. No loss of life or damage has been reported so far.
