The State Bank said the funds had been received and would contribute to an increase in Pakistan’s foreign exchange holdings, providing much-needed support to the country’s external account position.

The inflow comes at a time when Pakistan is seeking to stabilise its reserves and meet external payment obligations amid ongoing economic pressures.

Officials said the Saudi financial support would help reinforce macroeconomic stability and ease pressure on the economy, particularly at a time of heightened external financing needs.

Analysts say the injection is also expected to reduce pressure on the Pakistani rupee and could improve the country’s position in ongoing engagements with international financial institutions.

Saudi Arabia has remained a key financial partner for Pakistan in recent years, providing deposits and oil financing support to help stabilise the economy during periods of stress.
