Despite this, several Indian media outlets attempted to project a negative narrative, inviting commentators and framing discussions around regional rivalry. These efforts, however, have largely backfired, exposing credibility gaps.

In a notable incident, former US diplomat Jeffrey Gunter publicly corrected a Times Now anchor during a live broadcast over questions about the security of US Vice President JD Vance in Pakistan.

Gunter categorically stated that the US vice president was “completely safe,” dismissing concerns raised on the show and criticising attempts to turn a global issue into a Pakistan-India dispute.

He stressed that the discussions were centred on critical global challenges, including energy stability and economic impact, and urged media outlets to avoid sensationalism.

Indian media also faced embarrassment after circulating unverified claims that JD Vance would not travel to Pakistan or participate in the talks. The narrative collapsed when the US vice president arrived in Islamabad as scheduled, exposing the reports as baseless.

Another widely shared moment involved Indian anchor Arnab Goswami and Chinese analyst Victor Gao. During the exchange, Gao credited Pakistan for facilitating the dialogue, prompting a visible reaction from the anchor and an abrupt interruption, according to video clips circulating online.

The developments have reinforced Pakistan’s image as a key diplomatic facilitator while raising questions about sections of the Indian media attempting to undermine the process through unverified reporting.

As negotiations continue, the focus remains on outcomes that could impact regional stability, with Pakistan’s role increasingly acknowledged on the global stage.
