In a statement on social media platform X, Sharif said incidents of ceasefire breaches in some areas could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict.

He called on both Washington and Tehran to honour the mutually agreed two-week truce and pursue a peaceful resolution through dialogue.

The ceasefire, brokered through Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, was intended to halt weeks of intense fighting and pave the way for direct talks between the two sides.

However, tensions have resurfaced rapidly. Iran’s Lavan Island oil refinery was struck shortly after the truce announcement, while Gulf countries, including Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, reported incoming missile and drone attacks.

In a parallel escalation, Israel carried out extensive air strikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah-linked sites.

Explosions rocked Beirut, with residents reporting strikes without prior warning and significant damage across affected areas.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it had downed an advanced Israeli drone in Fars province and warned that any violation of the ceasefire would be met with a “firm and immediate response,” according to semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

Despite the truce, the latest developments highlight the risk of renewed escalation across the region.
