      <title>Pakistani leaders extend Easter greetings, pledge protection of minority rights</title>

&lt;p&gt;President Asif Ali Zardari said the government is committed to safeguarding the lives, property, honour, and welfare of minority communities. He described the services of the Christian community as an integral part of the country’s social system.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the government’s focus on protecting the religious, economic, and educational rights of minorities. “In the current situation of global tension, the importance of the teachings of peace, tolerance, and brotherhood of all religions has increased further,” he said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Interior Minister emphasised the government’s determination to protect minority rights and ensure the security of their places of worship. Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq described Easter as a universal message of love, hope, and peace, noting the Christian community’s role in the country’s development.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated the Christian community, calling them peace-loving, patriotic, and respectable. She praised their contributions to the Pakistan Movement and the country’s development. Maryam Nawaz Sharif cited the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who advocated equality for all minorities without discrimination.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;She said Easter is an occasion to pledge spreading love, brotherhood, and unity. The Chief Minister also announced an increase in grant and development funds for minority communities in Punjab, alongside the introduction of minority cards. Over 100,000 eligible minority families are to receive Rs 10,500 quarterly under the new program.&lt;/p&gt;
