Global research firm Ipsos has lauded the Punjab government’s Ramazan relief initiative, calling it an effective economic measure under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

According to the report, more than 40.6 million people visited Ramazan bazaars across Punjab during the holy month, while 33.8 million citizens benefited from facilitation markets. An additional 5.2 million people availed services through mobile “on-the-go” units.

The report noted that essential food items were sold at discounts of up to 40 per cent in these markets, with prices remaining 18 per cent lower than officially notified district rates.

Ipsos described the Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority as a unique and successful welfare model, highlighting its role in providing tangible relief to citizens while also generating employment opportunities.

Responding to the report, CM Maryam Nawaz said public service and welfare remain the government’s top priorities.
