The UAE Ministry of Defence said on Sunday that its air defence systems intercepted four ballistic missiles and 25 drones launched from Iran, as regional tensions continue to escalate.

In a statement posted on X, the ministry said the interceptions took place on March 22, adding that all incoming threats were neutralised within the country’s airspace.

The latest incident adds to a growing tally of aerial threats since the outbreak of hostilities.

According to the ministry, UAE air defences have so far intercepted a total of 345 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,773 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran.
