In a statement posted on X, the ministry said the interceptions took place on March 22, adding that all incoming threats were neutralised within the country’s airspace.

The latest incident adds to a growing tally of aerial threats since the outbreak of hostilities.

According to the ministry, UAE air defences have so far intercepted a total of 345 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,773 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran.

Authorities said the attacks have resulted in the deaths of two Emirati armed forces personnel, along with six civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi and Palestinian nationalities.

A total of 160 people have also been injured, ranging from minor to severe, including nationals from multiple countries across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

The ministry reiterated that the UAE remains on high alert and fully prepared to counter any threats, vowing a firm response to any attempts that could undermine the country’s sovereignty, security and stability.

The developments come amid ongoing military tensions between Iran and regional actors, with repeated missile and drone exchanges raising concerns over a wider escalation.
