Inspector General Punjab Abdul Kareem has directed increased security at mosques, places of worship, police posts, foreign embassies, and other sensitive sites.

The provincial deployment covers more than 32,500 mosques and worship sites, with over 25,000 personnel assigned to protect 136 Yom-e-Quds rallies across Punjab.

Special units, including Dolphin Squad, PERU, and Elite Teams, have been ordered to boost patrolling around religious and sensitive areas and ensure continuous monitoring through CCTV cameras.

Police are also maintaining strict vigilance at city entry and exit points and inter-provincial check posts, alongside search-and-comb operations to prevent extremist activities.

The IG Punjab has appealed to religious scholars and community leaders to deliver messages of peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony from the pulpits.

RPOs and DPOs have been instructed to maintain ongoing communication with mosque committees and rally organizers to ensure smooth and secure proceedings.

The operations aim to guarantee a peaceful conduct of prayers and rallies in cooperation with local communities, ahead of Ramadan.
