In a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, officials were briefed on the potential economic impacts of the ongoing global developments.

PM said the government is taking proactive measures and closely monitoring the situation to ensure stability in the national economy.

“It is imperative to implement timely measures for economic stability,” he said, adding that all necessary decisions will be taken to protect the interests of the people.

PM directed the federal cabinet, elected representatives, and senior officials at federal and provincial levels to actively contribute to providing relief to citizens and ensuring efficient use of resources. He also urged government employees and ministers to adopt simplicity and frugality.

PM emphasised that the burden of adjustments should be shared fairly, particularly by the privileged and elite sections of society, who should lead by example.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and other senior officials, including Chief Secretaries of all four provinces.
