Japan equalised in the 21st minute, before gaining the upper hand with two more goals in the 35th and 41st minutes to take a commanding 3-1 lead.

Pakistan mounted a strong comeback in the final quarter.

Abu Muhammad reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute, while Sufyan Khan levelled the score with a goal in the 55th minute.

Moments later, Afraz scored the decisive goal in the 57th minute to put Pakistan ahead 4-3.

In the closing moments, Pakistan goalkeeper Ali Raza produced a crucial save by stopping a Japanese penalty stroke, securing the victory for his team.
