In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, Attaullah Tarar said the operation was underway to respond to terrorism and unprovoked aggression from Afghanistan.

He said 188 Afghan Taliban check posts had been destroyed, while Pakistani security forces had taken control of 31 posts.

A total of 192 tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery guns were also destroyed, he added.

According to the minister, 56 locations inside Afghanistan were targeted in air operations.

Khogyani base destroyed in Nangarhar

Security sources said Pakistani forces destroyed the Khogyani base in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province in a successful airstrike.

They added that an ammunition depot and drone storage facility were also hit in Jalalabad.

The sources said the operation would continue until its objectives are achieved.

Pakistani flag raised at seized post in Paktika

Security officials said Afghan Taliban fighters attempted infiltration in the Thall sector on the night between March 2 and 3.

Pakistani forces repelled the attack and seized a Taliban post in Paktika province, where they raised the national flag.

They said several militants were killed in retaliatory strikes and three additional Taliban posts were destroyed.

Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq was launched on the night of February 26 following unprovoked aggression along the Pak-Afghan border.

Pakistani forces have since carried out strikes on multiple targets inside Afghanistan, including in Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia, targeting military installations and checkposts.
