In a statement, the ministry said Israeli warplanes targeted a residential apartment in the southern suburb of Al-Jannah, resulting in civilian casualties.

Several buildings in Beirut and other neighbourhoods were reduced to rubble following the bombardment.

Reports said Israeli warplanes carried out widespread airstrikes in the Beqaa region and the southern suburbs of Beirut, destroying dozens of buildings.
