Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq: 415 Afghan Taliban fighters killed

Pakistan’s federal government on Sunday said that 415 Afghan Taliban fighters have been killed and more than 580 wounded since the launch of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, launched in response to cross-border aggression along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar shared updated operational details in a statement posted on X, saying Pakistani security forces had inflicted heavy losses on Afghan Taliban positions during ongoing retaliatory actions.

According to the minister, Pakistani forces have destroyed 182 Afghan Taliban checkposts and taken control of 31 positions during the operation.

He added that 185 tanks, armed vehicles and artillery guns belonging to the Afghan Taliban regime had been destroyed, while effective Pakistani airstrikes were continuing at 46 locations inside Afghanistan.

Tarar noted that earlier figures released a day before reported 352 militants killed and over 535 injured, indicating a sharp rise in losses following intensified operations.

Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq was launched after what Pakistan described as unprovoked aggression by Afghan Taliban forces along the border on the night of February 26.

Pakistani armed forces subsequently carried out retaliatory strikes targeting militant infrastructure at multiple locations inside Afghanistan, including areas near Kabul, Kandahar and Paktia, destroying several military installations and border posts.

Officials say the operation remains ongoing as security forces continue efforts to neutralise hostile positions threatening Pakistan’s territorial security.
