      <title>PM lauds armed forces after GHQ briefing on Afghan situation</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) where he was briefed by military leadership on the evolving Pakistan-Afghanistan security situation and ongoing border developments.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;During the visit, the prime minister termed hostile actions against Pakistan unacceptable and directed authorities to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against khawarij and elements linked with the Afghan Taliban regime involved in attacks against Pakistan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The military leadership provided a detailed briefing on border security, operational preparedness and the prevailing regional environment.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;PM Shehbaz said Pakistan’s armed forces, under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, remain fully prepared to defend the country against any aggression.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He praised the professionalism and effective response of the armed forces during Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, launched following unprovoked aggression along the Pak-Afghan border.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the military, retaliatory strikes carried out inside Afghan territory resulted in the killing of 274 Taliban regime personnel and khawarij, while more than 400 were injured.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The ISPR also confirmed that 12 Pakistani soldiers were martyred, 27 injured, and one personnel remains missing.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The prime minister said the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces for the defence of the country and reiterated national unity against terrorism.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Officials added that Pakistan would continue operations under its security policy, stressing political consensus on eliminating terrorism and safeguarding national security.&lt;/p&gt;
