“A total of 72 Afghan Taliban combatants have been eliminated and more than 120 injured,” Zaidi said, adding that Pakistani forces destroyed 16 Taliban posts and captured seven others during ongoing operations.

According to Zaidi, Pakistani strikes also destroyed a large ammunition depot, an Afghan Taliban battalion headquarters and a sector headquarters.

He said more than 36 tanks, artillery guns and armoured personnel carriers belonging to Afghan Taliban forces were destroyed during the operations.

Zaidi reiterated Pakistan’s policy of delivering an immediate and effective response to any aggression, warning that additional counter-attacks are expected in line with Islamabad’s resolve to safeguard national security.

Tarar confirms the figures

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, in a statement posted on X, confirmed the figures, saying operations against Afghan Taliban positions were continuing and Pakistan would confront aggression with full force.

He said 16 Taliban posts had been destroyed while seven were taken under Pakistani control, alongside the destruction of an ammunition depot, battalion headquarters and sector command facilities.
