The statements came after Afghan Taliban forces opened fire along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border late Thursday night, prompting an immediate and effective counter-operation by Pakistani security forces across multiple frontier districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During retaliatory operations, Afghan forces suffered heavy human and material losses, with several checkposts and military installations destroyed.

In the Gursal sector of Mohmand district, Pakistani troops targeted and demolished Afghan checkposts, killing three additional Taliban fighters.

Security sources said the total number of Afghan Taliban personnel killed in the clashes had risen to 30.

Talal Chaudhry warns Taliban

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, speaking to Aaj News, said the Afghan Taliban regime’s “miscalculation would be cleared tonight,” stressing that the state would use its full strength to restore peace.

He said that when dawn breaks, the world would witness how effectively Pakistan had responded to the aggression.

Chaudhry noted that Pakistan had consistently sought peaceful dialogue, but attacks targeting markets and mosques would no longer be tolerated.

“Terrorism will be eliminated at all costs,” he said, adding that Pakistan would go to every extent to ensure the safety of its citizens and that Afghanistan must become a peaceful neighbour for sustainable regional stability.

Terrorist networks in Afghanistan: Rana Sanaullah

Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah said Afghan militants were acting as agents of India and alleged that Afghanistan had become a sanctuary for terrorist organisations.

He urged the international community to take notice of the situation, adding that Pakistan’s security forces were delivering a strong and effective response.

Sanaullah said Afghan militant groups would not dare to repeat such aggression after facing Pakistan’s retaliation.

Taliban attack during Ramazan: Kundi

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said Afghanistan launched the attack during the holy month of Ramazan, adding that Pakistan knew how to defend its territory.

He said Pakistani security forces had successfully repulsed the assault and that evidence of Afghan involvement had already been presented at international forums.

Kundi warned that any future hostile action would receive a forceful response, noting that Pakistan had previously responded decisively to external aggression.

The government reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully prepared to defend the country’s borders and are on high alert to respond swiftly to any further aggression.
