CM Maryam approves ‘One Punjab, One Standard’ policy

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has formally approved the “One Punjab, One Standard” policy, aimed at standardising infrastructure and urban design across the province.

The decision was taken during a special meeting chaired by the chief minister, where officials presented detailed proposals on province-wide design and infrastructure reforms.

Under the policy, a dedicated Standardisation and Design Unit will be established, while the creation of an autonomous authority for modern urban design and infrastructure improvement was also discussed.

Uniform designs for roadside kiosks and small shop cabins are among the proposals considered. The chief minister directed officials to prepare a standardised design manual.

Maryam Nawaz said Punjab would be recognised by “one colour and one standard,” from Lahore to Rajanpur.

She stressed that discipline was the essence of development and that uniform infrastructure would enhance the province’s aesthetic appeal.
