More than 80 militants were killed after Pakistan conducted intelligence-based air strikes in Afghanistan’s border areas on Saturday night, according to sources on Monday.

The sources said that Pakistan’s strikes successfully destroyed seven centres of the Fitna Al Khawarij group.

The air strikes targeted several locations in Afghanistan, including the provinces of Nangarhar, Paktika, and Khost.

According to security sources, the air raids specifically targeted militant strongholds in the regions of Nangarhar (4 centres), Paktika (2 centres), and Khost (1 centre).

The destroyed centres included Khawarij Maulvi Abbas centre Khost, Khawarij Ibrahim centre Nangarhar, Khawarij Mullah Rahbar centre Paktika and Khawarij Mukhlisyar centre Paktika.

The Ministry of Information said that Pakistan has concrete evidence linking Fitna Al Khawarij militants to recent terrorist activities in Pakistan, including attacks at the Islamabad Mosque, Bajaur, and Bannu.

These attacks were carried out by the Fitna Al Khawarij militants on the instructions of the group’s leadership and handlers based in Afghanistan.
