The tragic incident took place around 9 pm outside the Jamia Mosque on Oldbury Road, where the 18-year-old Zeeshan Afzal lost his life, while two other young men were injured.

According to reports, Zeeshan sustained severe injuries in the knife attack. Paramedics attempted to provide medical assistance, but Zeeshan succumbed to his injuries.

Two other people, aged 19 and 22, were also injured in the attack.

Both the injured were rushed to the hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.

The West Midlands Police have initiated investigations into the incident and have expanded their search area to identify those involved.

A police spokesperson expressed sympathy with Zeeshan’s family during this difficult time.

Initial inquiries indicate there is no evidence suggesting the attack was based on religious or racial grounds, and authorities are treating it as a general altercation that escalated into a fatal stabbing.
