Police authorities have suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) of Raiwind in Lahore following allegations of inappropriate conduct with women who had sought help through the emergency helpline.

Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Faisal Kamran took strict notice of the incident, declaring that respect and dignity for citizens is a “red line” for the police and that any misconduct will not be tolerated.

According to officials, the affected women had called 15 for assistance. When the SHO arrived at the scene, he allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with them and confiscated their mobile phones.

Sources said an inquiry into the matter was completed under the supervision of the SP Sadar. Following the findings, the Raiwind SHO was suspended with immediate effect.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said that in line with the Punjab chief minister’s vision, enforcement of the law remains the top priority, and no individual is above the law.

Police officials stated that departmental proceedings against those responsible are underway and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the protection and safety of citizens.
