Speaking in a video shared on social media by journalist Zahid Farooq Malik on Friday, the minister clarified that Khan’s transfer from Adiala Jail would be limited strictly to the administration of the injection.

Responding to a question about Khan’s treatment, Chaudhry said the former prime minister received his first injection on January 25, while two more doses remain. The second injection is scheduled for February 25, followed by a third dose exactly one month later.

He added that the treatment would be carried out at the best available hospital in Islamabad or Rawalpindi, equipped with tertiary-care facilities.

“The injection can only be administered at a hospital where tertiary-care services are available, so he will be shifted solely for that purpose,” the minister said.

Khan, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, had complained of deteriorating vision in his right eye during his imprisonment.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan had appointed Barrister Salman Safdar as amicus curiae to review the matter.

After visiting the jail, Barrister Safdar submitted a report to the court claiming that only 15 per cent vision remained in Khan’s right eye.

Following court directives, a medical board examined Khan at the jail on February 15.

Doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) later briefed PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Allama Raja Nasir Abbas on his health condition.

According to the medical board’s report, Khan’s eyesight has shown significant improvement.

Meanwhile, PTI and other opposition parties have called off their sit-in protest that had been staged over demands related to Khan’s hospital transfer.
