She could not survive due to a severe brain injury, and her body was sent to Kashmir after forensic samples were collected.

The student was appearing in her final-year examinations at the time, with her second-semester paper held on Friday, February 19.

In response, the university has formed a five-member inquiry committee headed by Professor Dr Abdul Hameed to investigate the incident.

A preliminary fact-finding report has already been submitted to the Medical Board, providing initial information about the student and the circumstances of her death.

Vice Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Professor Khalid Gondal, and Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University, Professor Mahmood Ayaz, met the student’s family and expressed their condolences.

University officials accompanied the family to Kashmir with the student’s body.

In view of possible protests by female students, the college administration has suspended all academic activities, including exams and practicals, until February 24.

New dates for exams and practicals will be announced later.
