Karachi terror plot foiled, 3 Fitna Al Hindustan facilitators arrested

Rangers and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have foiled a major terror attack plan in Karachi and arrested three Fitna Al Hindustan facilitators, sources said on Monday.

A Rangers spokesman said that the three wanted facilitators of the banned Fitna Al Hindustan terrorist group were arrested in a joint operation in Chakra Goth of Korangi.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Yasir Arfat, Khuda Bakhsh, and Zahid Hussain alias Barkzai.

Authorities recovered five kilograms of explosives, a 10-meter primacord, three detonators, and one kilogram of ball bearings.

Law enforcers also seized 250 books containing extremist literature and a laptop from their possession.

According to the spokesperson, the suspects were involved in radicalising students to join banned organisations and distributing extremist literature.

They had also hidden explosive materials at different locations in sensitive areas in Karachi to carry out attacks.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to the police for further legal action.

The family of Naveed Hashim from Buleda held a press conference in Turbat on Monday, alleging that he was kidnapped and killed by militants they identified as Fitna-ul-Hindustan.

Hashim’s mother told reporters that her son had been abducted and remained missing for 26 days before his body was returned to the family.

“The terrorists of Fitna-ul-Hindustan kidnapped my son and kept him missing for twenty-six days,” she said. “They tortured and martyred him. No Baloch can do this to his brothers.”

Hashim’s sister said the killing had devastated the family and left the children without a father.

“The terrorists have orphaned innocent children,” she said.
