A two-member bench, headed by the Chief Justice, heard a petition challenging the trial and, after hearing arguments, reserved the verdict.

The Chief Justice said the court would issue an appropriate order on the matter.

During the hearing, Barrister Salman Safdar presented a report on Khan’s health, noting that the PTI founder was satisfied with jail safety measures, food, drink facilities, and security arrangements.

Safdar requested that Khan undergo a medical examination in the presence of a family member, but the court rejected this request.

The Supreme Court directed that a team of doctors conduct an eye examination for Khan, to be completed by February 16.

The court also ordered that books be provided to him for continued studies and instructed that he be allowed to speak to his children by phone, also before February 16.

The Attorney General assured the court that all orders would be implemented.
