Doctors at Lahore General Hospital have saved the life of a four-year-old girl from Kasur after performing complex medical procedures, hospital officials said on Saturday.

According to police, the child, Iman Fatima, was found critically injured and covered in blood in a sewage drain. Investigators said she was sexually assaulted and then thrown into the drain with the intention of killing her.

She was initially shifted to Bhulleh Shah Hospital and later referred to Lahore General Hospital after her condition deteriorated.

A medical board was formed to oversee her treatment. The preliminary medical report confirmed that the child had been subjected to sexual assault.

The child was immediately placed under intensive medical care. Following successful treatment and recovery, she has now been discharged.

Officials said the girl received free, high-quality treatment at the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. A medical board led by Professor Aamna Cheema conducted multiple complicated surgeries to stabilise her condition.

The child’s family expressed gratitude to the chief minister and the medical team, offering prayers and appreciation for their efforts.

Hospital Principal Professor Farooq Afzal said that Lahore General Hospital would continue to provide the best possible medical facilities to patients. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to improving healthcare services.
