The Supreme Court has fixed for hearing criminal petitions related to the Toshakhana case against former prime minister Imran Khan.

The case was referred back to the Supreme Court after proceedings in the Islamabad High Court were completed.

A two-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, will hear the petitions, with Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan serving as the second member of the bench.

Earlier, a trial court had sentenced the PTI founder to three years in prison, but the Islamabad High Court suspended the sentence.

The conviction was under sections 167 and 173 of the Election Act.

In addition to the Toshakhana criminal case, the Supreme Court has also scheduled appeals related to 13 different cases concerning the PTI founder.

These include the Cypher case, NAB cases, the Al Qadir Trust case, and defamation cases. Hearings are scheduled for Monday.

The two-member bench led by Chief Justice Afridi will hear the cases on February 9.

The scheduled hearings will include appeals filed by the Punjab government against the bail of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi, as well as appeals concerning the PTI founder’s convictions under the Election Act, Official Secrets Act, and NAB cases.

In the Al Qadir Trust case, the court will hear NAB’s appeal against the PTI founder’s bail, while in the Cypher case, appeals against the acquittal of the PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi have also been listed.

Additionally, on February 9, the court will hear the PTI founder’s appeals regarding his bail in Lahore unrest cases and the defamation case against Shahbaz Sharif.

The Registrar’s Office has issued notices to all concerned parties and legal counsel in advance of the hearings.
