PMD forecasts clear weather for Basant celebrations in Lahore

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday forecast mainly dry weather with clear skies in Lahore during the Basant festival celebrations.

According to the PMD, dry and pleasant weather is expected on February 6 and 7, while February 8 may see dry conditions with a few clouds.

Light westerly to northwesterly winds, blowing at around 10 to 15 km/h, are likely to prevail, making weather conditions generally suitable for kite flying.

However, the department advised the public to exercise caution during festivities. The PMD urged kite flyers to remain vigilant, particularly near electric lines and open roads, to avoid accidents.

The meteorological authority said it will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as required.
