      <title>PDMA issues rain, snowfall alert for upper Punjab</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has issued a weather advisory forecasting rain in the upper parts of the province from February 1 to February 3.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the advisory, rain and snowfall are expected in Murree, Galiyat and the surrounding areas.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Rainfall is also likely in the Potohar region, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat and Gujranwala, it said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;All relevant departments have been placed on high alert in line with instructions from the Punjab chief minister.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Emergency control rooms will remain operational round the clock, with staff available 24 hours a day, the PDMA said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;PDMA Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia urged tourists visiting Murree to exercise caution and strictly follow safety instructions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He said the district administration and concerned departments have been put on alert in view of the expected snowfall.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Facilitation centres have been established for tourists at various locations in Murree, the PDMA DG added.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He advised citizens to drive carefully and, in case of any emergency, contact the PDMA helpline 1129.&lt;/p&gt;
