Train services in Balochistan remained suspended on Sunday following Saturday’s terror attacks in the province.

As search operations were continuing in Quetta, train services to Chaman, Karachi or Peshawar have not been resumed, authorities said.

Similarly, major national highways connecting Quetta to other parts of the country have been temporarily closed to traffic.

Railway authorities had suspended services following incidents that occurred yesterday.

Railway authorities announced that operations of the Peshawar-bound-Jaffer Express and Karachi-bound Bolan Express would remain suspended.

In addition, the Quetta-Zahidan service and the Quetta-Chaman train will remain non-operational as well.

Road links halted

Similarly, passenger coach services to Punjab, Karachi, and Sibi have also been temporarily halted.

According to the district administration, these measures have been taken to maintain law and order.

Train and coach services will resume once the situation returns to normal.

Punjab-Balochistan traffic suspended

Meanwhile, all roads from Punjab to Balochistan have been closed in Dera Ghazi Khan, authorities said on Sunday.

DG Khan Deputy Commissioner Usman Khalid said that the highways leading to Balochistan via Fort Munro and Tunsa Musa Khel have been temporarily shut.

“Currently, passengers cannot travel from Dera Ghazi Khan to Balochistan,” Khalid added.

Traffic has also been halted at border points connecting Balochistan, including Boatha and Sakhi Sarwar.

The move comes after security forces successfully foiled attacks by the militant group Fitna Al Hindustan in various Balochistan cities, killing 92 terrorists, including three suicide bombers.
