&lt;p&gt;According to police officials, Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh has been appointed as the new DIG Traffic Karachi and will assume charge immediately.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A formal notification regarding the appointment has also been issued.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Sources said the decision was taken in view of worsening traffic issues, mismanagement and growing public complaints in the city.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The newly appointed DIG Traffic has been tasked with improving the traffic system and ensuring strict implementation of traffic laws.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Police officials said further steps are expected in the coming days to improve traffic flow in Karachi.&lt;/p&gt;
