President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday lauded AD Ports Group for its expanding role in Pakistan’s maritime and logistics sector during a meeting with the company’s Managing Director and Group CEO, Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, in Abu Dhabi.

Zardari described AD Ports’ long-term investments as a key pillar of Pakistan-UAE economic cooperation, highlighting ongoing projects at Karachi Port that are enhancing capacity, efficiency and regional competitiveness.

Both sides agreed that expanding and modernising port infrastructure would strengthen trade flows and support Pakistan’s broader economic development, particularly seaborne trade.

The president also welcomed the establishment of AD Ports Group’s representative office in Islamabad and appreciated its collaboration on digitalisation and customs facilitation to improve trade efficiency.
