Snow clearance operations in Murree concluded on Sunday after 30 hours of heavy snowfall, on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Due to the snowfall, which continued with intervals, two feet of snow had accumulated on the roads; however, 48 small and big roads covering 185 kilometres were cleared through modern machinery, mechanical snow sweepers and heavy-duty bulldozers.

Traffic has been restored on Maal Road, Pindi Point, Kashmir Point, Governor’s House Road and other tourist spots.

Continuous salting is also being done on the roads to prevent slippage.

All 33-kilometre-long roads from Chhinka Gali, Lower Topa, to Lower Dewar have been completely cleared, and traffic has been restored.

Snow has also been removed from GPO Kaldana Road

Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Murree and related teams remained active in the field day and night, after which the splendour of Murree was restored.
