Franchise owner Hamza Majeed confirmed that Stallionz is not just a name but a part of Sialkot’s cricket history and a strong identity.

He said that this name was chosen to pay tribute to the tradition of cricket in Sialkot and to fulfil the long-standing desire of the fans.

According to him, the name Stallionz represents the city’s prestige, spirit and past achievements.

According to Hamza Majeed, a team representing Sialkot — Sialkot Stallions — has been one of the most successful domestic T20 cricket teams in Pakistan in the past.

Founded in 2004, the Stallions set a unique record by winning five consecutive titles in the National T20 Cup from 2005 to 2010.

During this time, the team also set a world record of winning 25 consecutive matches in top-level T20 cricket.

The Stallions’ invitation to participate in the Champions League T20 in 2012 is also considered an important milestone in Sialkot’s cricket history.

Now, after Sialkot’s inclusion as the eighth team in the league in PSL 11, there is excitement in the city.

According to the franchise management, various suggestions were under consideration for the team’s name; however, the name Stallionz was chosen to connect the successful tradition of the past with the new era.

The management says that details regarding the team’s logo, kit and player selection will be revealed in the coming days.

Team co-owner Kamil Khan said that the franchise is focusing on building a balanced and strong squad in which local talent will be given considerable opportunity, along with international players.

Under the new draft system and administrative changes of PSL 11, Sialkot Stallionz, like other teams, will adopt a comprehensive strategy to acquire the best players.

The arrival of Sialkot Stallionz is being described as not just the announcement of a new team but the revival of a glorious cricketing heritage of Sialkot.

Cricket fans are now focused on PSL 11, where the Stallionz are preparing to enter the field to write a new chapter in cricketing history.
