Bangladesh denies ICC deadline claims over T20 World Cup venues

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has rejected reports claiming that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has set a final deadline regarding the venues for Bangladesh’s matches in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Uncertainty still surrounds the venues for Bangladesh’s fixtures in the tournament after the BCB refused to play in India over security concerns.

So far, no resolution has been reached to resolve the issue, and the BCB dismissed reports suggesting that the ICC had issued a specific deadline for finalising the venues.

BCB Director Amzad Hossain clarified that the ICC has not provided the board with any particular date or deadline regarding the matter.

He added that Bangladesh has formally submitted a request to change the venues for its matches, which is currently under consideration.

According to Hossain, the ICC will make a final decision on the venues after consultations with all relevant stakeholders.

Hossain further stated that the BCB remains in contact with the ICC and is committed to resolving the matter according to established rules and regulations.

The clarification comes after reports in Indian media suggested that the ICC had rejected Bangladesh’s request to shift matches to Sri Lanka — a claim the BCB has firmly denied.
