Pakistan registered their first victory of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup after defeating Scotland by six wickets in Group C’s third match in Harare on Monday.

Asked to bat first, Scotland were bowled out for 187 in their allotted 50 overs. Pakistan chased down the target with ease, reaching 188 for four in 43.1 overs.

Pakistan fast bowler Ali Raza set the tone early, striking twice in the opening over. The Scottish batters struggled to build momentum thereafter and failed to post a competitive total.

Scotland captain Thomas Knight top-scored with 37, followed by Finlay Jones (33) and Ollie Jones (30).

Mano Saraswat contributed 25, Rory Grant 21 and Finlay Carter 12, while the rest of the lineup failed to reach double figures.

Ali Raza finished with four wickets, Momin Qamar took three, Abdul Subhan claimed two, and Mohammad Siyam picked up one.

In reply, Usman Khan anchored the chase with a composed 75, while Ahmed Hussain added 47. Samir Minhas scored 28 and Ali Hassan chipped in with 15. Captain Farhan Yousuf remained unbeaten on 18 to seal the win.

For Scotland, Ollie Jones and Mano Saraswat claimed two wickets each.

Earlier, Pakistan captain Farhan Yousuf won the toss and elected to field in the 12th match of the tournament, played at Harare.

The win keeps Pakistan’s campaign alive in the Under-19 World Cup as they look to build momentum in the group stage.
