Pakistani youths abducted in Cambodia, family seeks urgent help

Two Pakistani youths have reportedly been abducted and tortured in Cambodia after travelling there in search of employment, with one of them warning that their lives are in immediate danger.

According to the victims, Tahir Rasool and his friend left Lahore on December 22 on a Malaysian visit visa and reached Cambodia on December 25.

After waiting for three days, they were contacted via Telegram and offered jobs.

However, under the pretext of arranging visas, a “black company” allegedly seized their passports and confined them together in a room.

Tahir Rasool said that at least 10 other Pakistanis, along with women, are also being held by the abductors and are subjected to physical torture.

He alleged that his captors pulled out his fingernails during torture.

The victim said he managed to escape briefly and is hiding in a room inside a factory, from where he contacted his family using a Bangladeshi worker’s phone.

He added that attempts to seek help from the Pakistani embassy in Cambodia did not receive any response.

The victim’s details shared include CNIC number 36402-4450201-3 and passport number DQ982011.

He has appealed to Pakistani authorities for immediate assistance, saying the abductors could reach them at any time.
