Western winds are expected to affect the northern and western parts of the country from December 13 to 15, causing a likely increase in fog and reduced visibility.

Snowfall may disrupt traffic on mountainous routes, and some roads could be closed in affected areas.

Light rain and snowfall are expected in Quetta, Ziarat, and other parts of northwestern Balochistan.

Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, and Buner districts are expected to experience rain and snowfall.

The federal capital, Islamabad, is currently experiencing cold weather, while severe cold is reported in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Temperatures in high-altitude areas have fallen below freezing, with Skardu recording minus six degrees Celsius.

Northern areas, including Skardu, Astor, Deosai, Kaghan Valley, Naran, and Babusar Top, are expected to receive above-average snowfall.

The mercury has dropped to minus six degrees in Skardu, minus four in Gupis, minus three in Bagrot, and minus two in Gilgit and Astor.

Plains in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh will experience dense fog over the next days, while northern districts of Balochistan will face severe cold during the mornings and nights.

Authorities have advised travellers to exercise caution on mountainous routes and warned residents to prepare for extreme cold and snowfall in affected areas.
