According to the ISPR, Hameed was found guilty on four charges: involvement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act in a manner detrimental to the security and interests of the state, misuse of authority and government resources, and causing unlawful harm to individuals.

The court-martial proceedings were conducted under the Pakistan Army Act and spanned 15 months.

The ISPR described the trial as lengthy, noting that all charges were substantiated before the verdict was handed down.

The sentence was formally enforced on December 11, 2025.

The ISPR emphasised that the proceedings were carried out in accordance with strict military laws to protect the security of senior officers and the integrity of official matters.

The ISPR confirmed that the court conducted all proceedings in accordance with legal requirements, and Hameed was allowed full rights to select his defence team.

He also retains the right to appeal the verdict at the relevant forum.

The ISPR noted that matters related to political instability and other aspects were examined separately.
