Investigations into the murder of a mother, daughter, and daughter-in-law in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 1 have revealed that the main suspects, household head Iqbal and his son Yaseen, had borrowed more than Rs20 million from multiple individuals, including police officers, lawyers, and traders.

The financial details were obtained by local media on Wednesday.

Sources close to the investigation said Yaseen had two marriages. His first wife had been divorced, while his second wife, Maha, was allegedly poisoned.

Records show that two vehicles were registered under the name of his first wife.

The probe has uncovered extensive debts owed to various individuals: 7.5 million rupees from Owais of Gulshan-e-Mimar, 6 million from Ubaid, 2.5 million from Ejaz Wali and Saleem, 1.8 million from Hamid, 1.1 million from Mateen, 1.6 million from Sameer, and 240,000 rupees from a police officer named Noor.

Investigators are also probing the suspects’ links with Ali Attari, Wahab, and Abdul Qadir.

Ali Attari was reportedly contacted to arrange the burial of the victims and is said to be involved in occult practices near Kalu Pul.

Police have launched a further inquiry to determine his full role and background.

Following the discovery of the women’s bodies in the flat, authorities had detained Iqbal and Yaseen for questioning.

Yaseen was also found semi-conscious at the scene.

The police had decided to question all related individuals as the investigation continues.
