She noted that data showed clear improvement in the air quality index on 23 out of 30 days in November 2025 compared to November 2024, when the AQI was 453; this year, it dropped to 261.”

Moreover, air pollution was at its peak in November last year, says a statement issued on Sunday.

The chief minister underscored that historic steps have been taken during her one-and-a-half-year tenure for the improvement of the environment.

Environmentally friendly

She said that proper legislation, effective implementation of laws, use of modern machinery and technology have played an important role in this regard.

She added that for the first time in Punjab’s history, her government has launched a comprehensive vision to make every sector environmentally friendly.

She highlighted that measures to protect forests and increase tree plantation have also contributed a lot to improving air quality.

Maryam Nawaz said that this improvement in air quality compared to last year is a result of our hard work and the cooperation of the people.

She expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for the installation of a modern forecasting system equipped with advanced monitoring and surveillance technology.
