Pakistan rejects India’s ‘baseless and inflammatory’ remarks

The Foreign Office on Sunday strongly rejected highly provocative, baseless and irresponsible remarks by India, issuing a firm condemnation.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabee said the remarks made by the Indian leadership reflected “an alarming disregard for peace, stability and harmony in the region”.

The rebuke came a day after Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar alleged that India’s core challenges with its neighbour stemmed directly from Pakistan’s military leadership.

The spokesperson stated that Pakistan was a responsible state whose institutions — particularly the armed forces — served as a “strong pillar of national security”.

He said Pakistan was fully committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the Foreign Office, India must examine the “fascist and extremist Hindutva mindset” that has taken root within the country.

It added that the Indian state and its leadership had become “hostage to this radical religious narrative”.

The spokesperson said Pakistan’s armed forces had demonstrated their professionalism and unwavering resolve to defend the motherland in May, adding that no Indian propaganda could change this fact.

The statement said attempts by the Indian leadership to malign Pakistan’s state institutions were part of a systematic propaganda campaign aimed at destabilising the region and diverting global attention from India’s own state-sponsored terrorism.

The spokesperson added that Pakistan believed in peaceful coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy, and remained united and strong in protecting its security, sovereignty and national interests.

He further urged the Indian leadership to refrain from making unfounded remarks about Pakistan’s armed forces and instead introspect on its “fascist and extremist Hindutva ideology.”
