Seminary teacher held for brutally assaulting six-year-old in Karachi

A seminary teacher in Karachi’s Manghopir area has been arrested for severely beating a six-year-old student, leaving the child with a fractured skull, police said on Wednesday.

According to SSP West Tariq Mastoi, the teacher assaulted the young student at a madrassa in Aziz Brohi Goth, striking him repeatedly with sticks.

“The child suffered a skull fracture due to the violence,” the SSP said, adding that a case has been registered and an investigation has begun.

The victim’s father claimed that after the assault, his son began experiencing seizures and woke up screaming in pain.

He was rushed to a hospital, where X-rays confirmed a skull fracture.

The child has undergone two MRI scans — first at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later at Jinnah Hospital.

Police said the accused teacher, identified as Allah Batchaya, has been taken into custody, and a formal FIR has been lodged.

The boy’s father claimed that when he initially approached the police, they only issued a preliminary slip and insisted on medical reports before registering the case.
