      <title>NDMA launches relief operation for flood-hit people in Sri Lanka</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has launched a humanitarian relief operation for the flood-affected people in Sri Lanka in close coordination with Pakistan’s armed forces.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The NDMA has finalised the arrangements in this regard with the immediate dispatch of relief aid and an urban search and rescue team to Sri Lanka, according to a Radio Pakistan report.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The initial consignment, comprising 100 tons of essential relief supplies, will be dispatched later today along with a 45-member Pakistan Army USAR team.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The relief package includes critical life-saving and support items such as rescue boats, dewatering pumps and life jackets. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Furthermore, a mobile field hospital is also being deployed to provide immediate medical care to those affected by the floods.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, the Pakistan Navy has handed over relief supplies to the Sri Lankan authorities for flood-affected people.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the ISPR, Pakistan Navy Ship SAIF, currently on a port call at Colombo for participation in the International Fleet Review-25, has promptly initiated humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations for the local populace.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;PNS SAIF&lt;/em&gt; provided humanitarian relief supplies to Sri Lankan authorities to augment ongoing national relief efforts.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The aid package comprised food staples, ready-to-eat meals, dry rations, first-aid kits, emergency medicines and essential equipment.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
