The report, issued by the Karachi Traffic Police, gave details on e-challans issued over the past month.

According to the report, over 93,000 e-challans were issued citywide in the last month.

The highest number of violations involved failure to wear seatbelts.

More than 57,500 drivers were fined for the offence, with penalties amounting to Rs575.41 million.

Motorcyclists also accounted for a significant share of violations.

As many as 22,257 riders were caught riding their bikes without helmets, leading to fines worth Rs111.135 million.

The report added that speeding by dumpers, trailers and water tankers was detected through tracker systems installed in these vehicles, resulting in 1,188 fines.

Additionally, 2,699 regular drivers were fined for speeding, while 3,102 motorists were penalised for signal violations.

Also, 1,278 e-challans were issued for fancy number plates and 1,178 for tinted windows, with combined fines totalling Rs29.45 million.

Violations also included 611 cases of stop-line breaches and 426 incidents of driving in the wrong lane.

The traffic police have urged motorists to follow traffic rules, stressing that these regulations are essential not only for their own safety but also for other travellers.
