In a statement, the Foreign Office said the pattern of storming Al-Aqsa and targeting worshippers has become routine, adding that such actions constitute a blatant breach of international law and relevant UN resolutions.

The spokesperson said it is imperative to ensure the sanctity of holy sites in line with international law and the historical status quo.

The statement stressed that ongoing human rights abuses in Palestine underscore the need for urgent international attention.

Pakistan called on the global community to take “urgent and effective measures” to protect holy sites, prevent further settler violence and incursions, and uphold UN resolutions.

Reiterating its longstanding stance, Pakistan reaffirmed support for a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

It said peace must lead to an independent, sovereign, viable and contiguous Palestinian state along pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
