Justice Farooq Haider heard the petition filed by Noor Bibi and her husband, who alleged that the police had been pressuring the woman to end her marriage.

The petitioner stated that the Indian Sikh woman had travelled to Pakistan for religious rituals and later embraced Islam of her own free will before marrying Nasir.

The petition claimed that on November 8, police illegally raided the petitioner’s house and forced the woman to annul the marriage.

It further argued that the police had no authority to conduct a raid on the residence.

After the hearing, the Lahore High Court ordered the police to refrain from harassing Noor Bibi and her husband.

The court also noted that the woman had voluntarily converted to Islam and entered into marriage, and directed the authorities to act strictly within the law.
