This comes on the heels of Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro’s transfer to the Islamabad High Court.

Justice K.K. Agha recently took the oath as a judge of the Federal Constitutional Court.

With Justice K.K. Agha’s elevation, the total number of judges currently serving at the Sindh High Court stands at 32, including 20 permanent judges and 12 additional judges.

Before this, the transfer of Justice Soomro had already left the court facing a deficit of judges.

Justice K.K. Agha had been heading the constitutional benches at the Sindh High Court.

His elevation has left this critical position vacant, and no new appointment has yet been made for the head of the constitutional benches.

Appointments to lead the constitutional benches are made by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.

Legal circles have expressed concern that the absence of a designated head may affect the hearings of cases of constitutional significance.

The Sindh High Court administration is awaiting further appointments and decisions from the Judicial Commission regarding the induction of new judges.
